SINÓNIMOS: Cestus pectinalis Bigelow, 1904; Cestus veneris Chun, 1879

Cuerpo alargado, en forma de cinta de hasta 1,5 m. de longitud y con el cuerpo transparente. De las ocho filas de paletas natatorias, cuatro están muy reducidas y difíciles de observar a simple vistas.
