Pione vastifica (Hancock, 1849)
Esponja perforante de color naranja, de la que sólo son visibles los ósculos y las papilas acuíferas. Se puede observar desde cerca de la superficie, perforando algas calcáreas.
Esta especie es muy parecida a Clona rhodensis, diferenciándose por el color rojo escarlata de esta última.
